We hold a small range of frame wood in stock, as most of our customers just want simple frames (as our title says) but can get other materials in for special orders. We will have to quote for anything different. We normally stock black, white and natural wood traditional picture frames, as well as black, white and natural wood Floater Frames
Our frames come with fixings for you to fit your pictures into your frames, and hang on your wall. We recommend 3M Command Strips to put your art on the wall, rather than nails or picture hooks. the 3M command strips are sticky backed Velcro strips that don’t leave a mark on the wall when removed
These are called “Floater Frames”, “Floating Frames” or “Tray Frames” – sometimes even “Box Frames”. The frame is about 20mm bigger than the artwork and it sits inside the box. The 10mm border between the artwork and the inside edge of the frame makes it look like the artwork is floating in its frame. These frames are available in Black and White woodgrain finish. We could also provide a natural wood product for those who want to paint there frames their own colour.
Our Floater Frames are 38mm wide x 33 mm high and have a recess of 26mm wide and 21mm high. The artwork can be fixed in position by either screwing it in to the frames from the rear, or fixing with sticky backed velcro dots.
Traditional picture frames are placed around the artwork and sit on it. The painting is fixed in position by either screw fixings or spring fixings. Accurate measurements of the artworks are required as Traditional frames are made to a tighter tolerance than Floating frames
Our traditional frames are made from timber strip that is 33mm wide and 13mm high. They have an 8mm x 6mm recess that fits over the artwork.
